NWU Volleyball Well Represented on AD3I Team

The Nebraska Wesleyan Volleyball Team received plenty of recognition for its outstanding season as the Prairie Wolves were well represented on the Association of Division III Independents All-Independent volleyball team that was announced Friday (Dec. 12).

NWU Leads GPAC All-Sports Trophy After Fall Season

The 2008 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) fall sports season is complete and Nebraska Wesleyan has the overall lead with 61 points. Six of the league’s 19 sports have been completed so far.

Three Earn All-GPAC in Volleyball

Three members of the Nebraska Wesleyan University volleyball team were named to the 2008 Great Plains Athletic Conference Volleyball All-Conference team that was announced Wednesday (Nov. 19). Senior Abby Bade was the top honoree for NWU as she earned All-GPAC First Team honors. Sophomore libero Erika Goldsmith was named to the All-GPAC Second Team while freshman setter Ashley Jedlicka was an honorable mention All-GPAC selection.

Bade Named AVCA All-American

Nebraska Wesleyan senior outside hitter Abby Bade has been named to the NCAA Division III/AVCA All-America Third Team. Bade becomes just the fifth player in NWU volleyball history to be named to the AVCA All-America Team.

#4 La Verne Ends NWU Volleyball Season

Fourth-ranked University of La Verne ended the 2008 volleyball season for Nebraska Wesleyan on Friday night as the Leopards defeated the Prairie Wolves 3-1 in the Semifinals of the NCAA West Regional. The Prairie Wolves finish the season with a 20-10 overall record.

NWU Rallies For Dramatic 3-2 Victory at NCAA Tournament

Nebraska Wesleyan overcame a 2-0 set deficit to outlast 16th-ranked Pacific Lutheran by scores of 26-28, 24-26, 25-19, 25-14 and 15-12 in a five-set thriller in the first round of the NCAA West Regionals Thursday night (Nov. 13) in La Verne, Calif. The Prairie Wolves now advance to the West Region Semifinals to face 4th-ranked and top-seeded University of La Verne on Friday night at 7 pm (PST).

NWU Volleyball Beats Hastings in Season Finale

Nebraska Wesleyan saved its best match for the regular season finale as the Prairie Wolves beat Hastings College, 3-0, on Tuesday night (Nov. 4) to snap a nine-match losing streak against the Broncos. It was the first win for NWU over Hastings since Oct. 28, 2003.

Abby Bade had a match-high 15 kills as Nebrasks Wesleyan swept past Dakota Wesleyan, 3-0, in GPAC Volleyball action on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 1) at Snyder Arena in Lincoln. NWU won with scores of 25-20, 25-19, 25-21.

Brammeier Leads NWU Past Sioux Falls

Laura Brammeier had a match high 19 kills with a .439 hitting percentage as Nebraska Wesleyan downed Sioux Falls, 3-1, in GPAC Volleyball action on a Halloween festive Friday night (Oct. 31) at Snyder Arena in Lincoln.

Doane College wasted little time in ending Nebraska Wesleyan's winning streak as the Tigers made quick work of the Prairie Wolves winning 3-0 in GPAC Volleyball action on Tuesday (Oct. 28) in Crete, Neb.

Goldsmith Earns GPAC Libero-of-the-Week

Nebraska Wesleyan sophomore Erika Goldsmith is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Libero-of-the-Week for matches that were played Oct. 20-26. She becomes the first NWU volleyball player to receive GPAC player of the week recognition this season.

Nebraska Wesleyan dropped the first set but bounced back to win the next three highly contested sets to defeat Briar Cliff University, 3-1, in GPAC volleyball action on Friday night (Oct. 24) in Sioux City, Iowa.

Prairie Wolves Make Quick Work of Bulldogs

Nebraska Wesleyan held Concordia to a negative hitting percentage as the Prairie Wolves defeated the Bulldogs, 3-0, in a Great Plains Athletic Conference volleyball match on Tuesday night (Oct. 21) at Snyder Arena in Lincoln. NWU won the three sets in scores of 25-18, 25-17, 25-13.

The Nebraska Wesleyan University volleyball team had a successful trip to the west coast as the Prairie Wolves went 3-1 over the weekend against NCAA III opponents in California.

Nebraska Wesleyan controlled the net with nine total blocks as the Prairie Wolves swept past Midland Lutheran College, 3-0, in a Great Plains Athletic Conference volleyball match on Tuesday night (Oct. 14) at Snyder Arena in Lincoln, Neb. The Prairie Wolves won the three sets in scores of 25-22, 25-21, 25-22.

#13 Northwestern Holds Off NWU in Volleyball

Nebraska Wesleyan took one set from No. 13 Northwestern College on Saturday, but the Red Raiders proved to be too much as Northwestern defeated NWU, 3-1, in Great Plains Athletic Conference volleyball action at Snyder Arena.

Doane Holds Off NWU In Volleyball Thriller

Doane College rallied to win the final two sets, including a 15-13 win in the fifth set to hold off Nebraska Wesleyan, 3-2, in the home opener for the Prairie Wolves on Tuesday night (Sept. 30) in front of an energetic crowd at Snyder Arena.

Nebraska Wesleyan swept past Concordia University in three sets to post a 3-0 victory in Great Plains Athletic Conference volleyball action on Tuesday night (Sept. 23) in Seward, Neb. NWU won the three sets in fairly easy fashion in scores of 25-19, 25-17, 25-13.
