#19 Doane Defeats NWU In Straight Sets

October 30, 2012

19th-ranked Doane College made quick work of Nebraska Wesleyan on Tuesday night (Oct. 30) as the Tigers swept past the Prairie Wolves, 3-0, in GPAC volleyball action at the Haddix Center in Crete, Neb.

Doane, ranked No. 19 in this week's NAIA Poll, won in scores of 25-18, 25-14, 25-22.

After NWU had upset the Tigers earlier this season to end the 20-match losing streak, Doane made sure the upset didn't occur twice in one season. In the first meeting between the two teams, NWU controlled the net with 13 total blocks. On Tuesday, NWU had just two blocks and hit only .119 as a team.

Meanwhile, Doane pounded out 42 kills with a .344 hitting percentage. Emily Max led the way with 12 kills, while Susan Rollman had 10.

For Nebraska Wesleyan Cody Long led the team with eight kills, while Hannah Softley added seven with a .429 swing percentage.

The Prairie Wolves close out the 2012 season with two home matches this week hosting Midland University on Thursday and Dordt College on Saturday.
