Volleyball Evens Record With Sweep Of Mount Marty

Nebraska Wesleyan got back to .500 on Saturday (Sept. 29) as they swept past Mount Marty College, 3-0, in a GPAC volleyball match played at Cimpl Arena in Yankton, S.D.

NWU is now 7-7 overall and 2-4 in the GPAC.

The Prairie Wolves defeated the Lancers in scores of 25-23, 25-18, 26-24 to earn their second conference victory.

NWU had a .243 hitting percentage with 43 total kills in the match. Katelyn Walsh led the Prairie Wolves with 11 kills and four blocks. Cicely Batie and Karny Kuehl both added eight kills.

Three players had double digit dig totals with Mackenzie Hite leading the way at 15 digs. Mackenzie Ashton added 12 with Makayla Westphal recording 10.

Alex Springman handed out 26 assists to lead NWU.

Amanda Dirksen had 11 kills to pace Mount Marty.

Nebraska Wesleyan now prepares to host nationally-ranked Doane College on Tuesday night (Oct. 2) at Snyder Arena.
