Elman Earns AD3I Player of Week Honors

Nebraska Wesleyan University volleyball player Kelsey Elman has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player-of-the-Week.

Kelsey ElmanElman (Omaha, Neb.) had three double-doubles on the week to lead Nebraska Wesleyan to a 2-1 mark for the week. She averaged 3.69 kills and 3.62 digs in the three matches. In a sweep over Sioux Falls, Elman had a team-high 17 kills and a season-high .500 hitting percentage. She had 20 kill and 19 digs in a five-set win over Briar Cliff the next day. On the week she had 48 kills, 47 digs, eight assists, four service aces and four total blocks.

The Omaha Marian H.S., graduate has been a great overall player for the Prairie Wolves this season. She is second on the team in kills (2.60 kills per set) and third in digs (3.21 digs per set). On the year she has 12 double-doubles and two triple doubles.

Nebraska Wesleyan, ranked #19 in the AVCA/DIII Poll for the third straight week, is 20-3 overall on the season and 9-2 in Great Plains Athletic Conference play. The Prairie Wolves are in the midst of a six-match home stand. NWU will play host to Hastings College on Wednesday night (Oct. 20) at 7:30 pm, then come back to play Concordia University on Homecoming Saturday (Oct. 23) at 4:30 pm.
