Tiedgen Named ADIII Independents Softball Player of the Week

Nebraska Wesleyan University senior softball player Ashley Tiedgen has been named the Association of Division III Independents softball Player-of-the-week for the week of April 14-20, 2008.

Ashley TiedgenTiedgen, a senior pitcher from Lincoln, Neb., was 3-1 on the mound with a 0.64 ERA for the week. She threw a no-hitter in an 8-0 victory over Mt. Marty College. Tiedgen struck out 17 and walked just six in 22.0 innings of work. She posted three straight wins without allowing an earned run.

The Lincoln Southeast High School graduate leads the team with 12 pitching victories. She is 12-5 with a 2.68 ERA. At the plate she is batting .298 with 1 home run and 15 RBIs.

Earlier this season she became the NWU career wins leader, passing Paige Losey (1991-1993) with 32 wins. Tiedgen now has 35 career victories.

Nebraska Wesleyan currently has a 19-13 overall record and is in its last week of regular season play.
