The Nebraska Wesleyan University softball team was honored by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) as a 2010 girls got game/NFCA Top Ten All-Academic Team.

For the second straight season, Nebraska Wesleyan University pitcher Alysia Wittmaack was named the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Pitcher-of-the-Year when the All-Independent teams were announced.  Joining Wittmaack on the AD3I First-Team were pitcher Abby Wilmes, shortstop Lauren Bodfield, and outfielder Dani Bryant. First baseman Marcia Kennedy and utility player Krista Wearden were selected to the All-AD3I Second-Team.

Four members of the Nebraska Wesleyan University softball team were named to the 2010 Great Plains Athletic Conference Softball All-Conference team that was announced Tuesday (May 11).  NWU junior pitcher Alysia Wittmaack was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Pitcher-of-the-Year.

Eighth-seeded Concordia defeated the No. 2 seed Nebraska Wesleyan, 6-2, on day two of the 2010 GPAC Tournament in Hastings, Neb. The loss eliminated the Prairie Wolves from the tournament and ends their season.

Two Nebraska Wesleyan University softball players have been honored as CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 7 selections. The teams were announced Thursday (May 6) and the NWU honorees were led by junior pitcher Alysia Wittmaack who earned First-Team All-District honors.

Nebraska Wesleyan opened up their first ever GPAC Postseason Tournament with a 9-4 victory over Dana College on Thursday (May 6) in the opening round of the GPAC Tournament at the Smith Complex in Hastings, Neb.  Hastings College rallied from a 6-1 deficit to defeat NWU, 9-6, in the second game of the day.

The Nebraska Wesleyan University softball team is preparing for their first ever Great Plains Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament this week that takes place May 6-8 at the Smith Softball Complex in Hastings, Neb.

Morningside clinched the 2010 GPAC Regular Season title and a trip to the NAIA National Tournament as they swept Nebraska Wesleyan, 6-2, 10-2, in softball action on Saturday (May 1) in Sioux City, Iowa.

Alysia Wittmaack battled illness and scattered 10 hits to get the complete game victory which set a new Nebraska Wesleyan season and career record for pitching victories. She helped NWU defeat Briar Cliff, 5-4, in game one of a GPAC softball doubleheader but the Chargers bounced back to win game two, 4-2.

Dana College scored five runs in the third inning of game two to win the second game 6-2 after Nebraska Wesleyan had won game one, 2-1, as the two teams split a GPAC Softball doubleheader on Wednesday night (Apr. 28) in Blair, Neb.

For the fifth time this season, the Nebraska Wesleyan softball team picked up an extra innings victory as they defeated Northwestern College, 6-5, in eight innings to complete the GPAC doubleheader sweep on Tuesday (Apr. 27) in Orange City, Iowa. NWU won game one, 5-1.

Nebraska Wesleyan won game one 2-1 to extend their winning streak to seven games, but Sioux Falls came back in the nightcap to defeat the Prairie Wolves, 5-3, to ruin NWU Softball Senior night on a rainy evening in Lincoln.

Nebraska Wesleyan remained in first place in the Great Plains Athletic Conference softball standings after extending their win streak to six games with a sweep over Dakota Wesleyan on Sunday afternoon (Apr. 25) in Mitchell, S.D.

Alysia Wittmaack struck out the first six batters on her way to a complete game victory in a 6-1 win in the first game of GPAC softball doubleheader against Concordia University on Sunday afternoon (Apr. 18) in Lincoln. Lauren Bodfield continued her late inning heroics with the game-winning single in the bottom of the seventh to give NWU a 3-2 win in the second game.

The Nebraska Wesleyan softball team picked up another Great Plains Athletic Conference doubleheader sweep on Saturday afternoon (Apr. 17) as the Prairie Wolves defeated Mount Marty College, 6-0, 7-1 at University Place Park in Lincoln.

Lauren Bodfield hit her second home run of the day in the top of the ninth inning to give Nebraska Wesleyan a 4-3 extra innings victory over Hastings College in the first game of GPAC doubleheader on Wednesday (Apr. 14) in Hastings, Neb. The Broncos came back to win game two, 11-4.

Alysia Wittmaack threw a no-hitter in a complete game shutout victory with 11 strikeouts as Nebraska Wesleyan defeated Midland Lutheran, 2-0, in game one of a GPAC softball doubleheader on Tuesday night (Apr. 13) in Lincoln. The Prairie Wolves completed the sweep with a 2-1 victory in game two of the doubleheader.
