The Nebraska Wesleyan softball team received three points in this week's NAIA Softball poll, the first time the Prairie Wolves have been seen in the poll this year. It is the first that the Prairie Wolves have received votes in the NAIA Poll since the 1993 season when they received votes in the fifth poll released April 26, 1993.
Nebraska Wesleyan got off to the best start in school history when they started 10-0. After suffering two losses, the Prairie Wolves have now won 10 of the last 12 games. They fell out of first place in the GPAC standings with a split at Midland University on Tuesday night (Apr. 12) after the poll was released.
Nebraska Wesleyan is having an all-around outstanding season. They rank second in the GPAC in both team Earned Run Average (2.04) and team Batting Average (.331).
NWU is 20-4 overall and 8-4 in the GPAC in 2010. With their last victory the Prairie Wolves have secured their sixth straight 20-win season.
Nebraska Wesleyan plays at Mount Marty College on Saturday (April 16) in Yankton, S.D.
