NWU Leads GPAC All-Sports Trophy After Fall Season

SIOUX CITY, Iowa - The 2008 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) fall sports season is complete and Nebraska Wesleyan has the overall lead with 61 points.  Six of the league’s 19 sports have been completed so far.

Nebraska Wesleyan won GPAC Championships in men’s cross country and women’s cross country and finished as GPAC Runner-up in men’s soccer.  Other GPAC team champions were Sioux Falls (football), Hastings (men’s soccer), Dordt (women’s soccer) and Northwestern (volleyball).

NWU leads Doane College and Hastings College who are tied for second with 57 points.  Morningside won the All-Sports trophy last season.

Prior to last season, Nebraska Wesleyan had won the All-Sports Trophy in 23 of the previous 25 years.
