Sadie StruebingLINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska Wesleyan University freshman Sadie Struebing was named to the All-Independent Women’s Basketball Team that was announced by the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I).  Struebing was named to the All-Independent Second-Team.

Struebing, a native of Brainard, Neb., led the team in both scoring and rebounding in her first season with the Prairie Wolves.  She averaged 11.6 points and 7.9 rebounds and ended the year as the top scoring and rebounding freshman in the GPAC.  She was 10th in the AD3I in rebounding, 23rd in scoring and seventh in the league with a .496 field goal percentage.  The East Butler High School graduate recorded seven double-doubles on the year to rank second in the GPAC in double-doubles.

The All-Independent women’s basketball teams were selected by the women’s basketball coaches from member schools of the Association of Division III Independents.  The Association of DIII Independents consists of 21 DIII Independent institutions that have joined together to recognize student-athletes at independent institutions, and to provide exempted postseason championship competition in nine sports in 2007-08.

Struebing also received All-GPAC honorable mention honors earlier this season.

Nebraska Wesleyan finished the 2007-08 season with a 6-21 overall record.
