Big Weekend For NWU Track Teams

Lincoln, Neb. – The Nebraska Wesleyan Track & Field squads have a heavy weekend ahead of them from a competition standpoint. On Friday, NWU hosts the Prairie Wolf Invitational at the Bob Devaney Sports Center on the University of Nebraska campus while on Saturday, Nebraska Wesleyan will take part in the GPAC Indoor Conference Championships, also held at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

The Prairie Wolf Invitational will host 32 teams and over 700 athletes on Friday night, making it the largest Prairie Wolf Invite ever. Field events begin at noon while track events begin at 1 p.m. Complete schedule

On Saturday, NWU track athletes that qualified for conference competition will take on twelve other schools from the Great Plains Athletic Conference. The top 18 performers in each event qualify to compete at the conference meet. Nebraska Wesleyan has won five of the last seven GPAC Indoor titles on the men’s side while the women have been runner-up the past two years. Doane College is the defending champion for both men and women.
