Seven join Nebraska Wesleyan tennis teams
LINCOLN, Neb. — Head Tennis Coach Dr. Rick
Harley today announced the names of seven student-athletes, who
intend to play tennis and study at Nebraska Wesleyan University
starting this fall.

Drew Placek, Omaha, Neb. (Elkhorn)
Michael Larsen, Lincoln, Neb. (Northeast)
In 2007, the Nebraska Wesleyan women won the Great
Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) regular season crown, as well
as the NAIA Region III tournament title, and advanced to the NAIA
Championships as a team for the first time since 1996.
The NWU men also won the GPAC regular season crown,
but fell short of the national meet losing 5-3 in the NAIA Region
III final. They finished 17-6 overall, the team’s best record
since going 19-6 in 2003.
Combined, the Nebraska Wesleyan men and women have
won nine conference regular season titles in tennis since the league
became the GPAC in 2000.
