NWU WOMEN EXIT EARLY, PICK UP NAIA HONORS

Mobile, Ala -- In a battle of home-state players, it was Advantage California on Monday in the opening round at the NAIA Women’s Tennis Championships as 11th-rated Point Loma Nazarene defeated Nebraska Wesleyan 9-0 at the Mobile Tennis Center.

The Sea Lions hailing from San Diego and made up of six players from California, won all nine matches in straight sets and improved to 14-6 overall, while the Region III champion Prairie Wolves, with seven players from Nebraska, finished their season at 10-12.

“Our players all had a positive feeling about the way they played,” Head Coach Rick Harley said. “And hopefully, that will roll over into this summer and motivate them to keep practicing for next year.”
