PRAIRIE WOLVES SWEEP DENNIS YOUNG INVITE
Nebraska Wesleyan’s indoor track and field
teams brought home a pair of team crowns from the Dennis Young Invitational
hosted by Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa on Feb. 11.

It was the third year in a row the Prairie Wolves
swept both team titles. The men scored 211 points on the day, 87
points ahead of the second-place team.
Senior Erin Powell led the women, who won with 188.5
points, by winning the 55, long jump and triple jump. Powell’s
mark in the triple jump (37-5 3/4) was a personal best and moved
her into second place all-time at NWU.
Mercy Dinwiddie (5,000), Amber Brandenburger (mile),
Danielle Fenster (800), Amy Vanderkolk (55 hurdles), Matt Turman
(55), Jeff Aldrich (200), Aaron Dye (mile), Evan Knight (800), Derek
Zulkoski (pole vault), Ryan Blahak (triple jump) and Chris Krueger
(shot put) were among Nebraska Wesleyan’s other event winners.

NWU student-athletes established three new meet
records, including Powell in the triple jump, Knight in the 800
(1:54.01) and Aaron Dye in the mile (4:23.1).
Central College, Coe College, Grinnell College and
Loras College were among the other participating teams. Doane College
also competed, but the Tigers were not included in the team scoring.
This week, NWU will host the Prairie Wolf Invitational
at the Bob Devaney Sports Center Friday, Feb. 17. The first running
event is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
