SEVEN SPRING ATHLETES, BOTH TENNIS TEAMS
RECEIVE HONORS
Seven of Nebraska Wesleyan’s student-athletes
competing in baseball, tennis and women’s golf have been Daktronics/NAIA
All-America Scholar-Athletes.
In addition, both Prairie Wolves tennis squads have
been named 2005 NAIA Scholar Teams. The NWU men ranked
fourth out of only 13 teams in the nation recognized with a
3.59 grade point average, while the women’s tennis team, which
also had a 3.59 GPA, ranked
11th among 20 teams to meet the criteria.
To be nominated individually, students must have
reached junior status, been a contributor to his or her team and
have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 based on a 4.0 scale. Here
is Nebraska Wesleyan’s list of recipients for 2005:

Kassie Racek, Sr., Albion, Neb., Albion High School, 3.82,
chemistry
NWU ranked seventh among 13 conference institutions
with 18 NAIA Scholar-Athletes in 2004-05, despite being eligible
for the awards in only five of 16 sports because of Nebraska Wesleyan’s
NCAA Div. III postseason declaration in the other 11 sports.
