Hoops joins NWU’s list
of Academic All-Americans
Nebraska Wesleyan goalkeeper
Jane Hoops (Sr., Lincoln, Neb., Northeast High School) today became
the 55th student-athlete in school history to be named to the Academic
All-America® Team as selected by CoSIDA.
Hoops was named to the College Division First Team
with a 3.86 Grade Point Average (4.00 scale). She majors in History/Social
Science Education.

In 2003, Hoops led the Prairie Wolves to an
overall record of 13-6 and a runner-up finish in the Great
Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). Her 0.93 Goals Against
Average and 10 shutouts this season were career bests.
Hoops earned GPAC Co-Player of the Year honors
after playing every minute of every match in goal as a senior.
She was also the conference’s defensive player of the
week twice in 2003. She finished her
career ranked second in saves (399) and third in career shutouts
(17) after just three seasons at NWU.

She was also named the female recipient of the October
2003 Association of Division III Independents Student-Athlete of
the Month award. Click

Entering the 2003-04 academic year, Nebraska Wesleyan
University ranked 10th all-time in the entire nation, regardless
of college division (NCAA I, II, III and NAIA), with 54 student-athletes,
who have won 83 Academic All-America awards between them.
