Hoops joins NWU’s list of Academic All-Americans

Nebraska Wesleyan goalkeeper Jane Hoops (Sr., Lincoln, Neb., Northeast High School) today became the 55th student-athlete in school history to be named to the Academic All-America® Team as selected by CoSIDA.

Hoops was named to the College Division First Team with a 3.86 Grade Point Average (4.00 scale). She majors in History/Social Science Education.

In 2003, Hoops led the Prairie Wolves to an overall record of 13-6 and a runner-up finish in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). Her 0.93 Goals Against Average and 10 shutouts this season were career bests.

Hoops earned GPAC Co-Player of the Year honors after playing every minute of every match in goal as a senior. She was also the conference’s defensive player of the week twice in 2003. She finished her career ranked second in saves (399) and third in career shutouts (17) after just three seasons at NWU.

She was also named the female recipient of the October 2003 Association of Division III Independents Student-Athlete of the Month award. Click here to view more information.
