Nebraska Wesleyan won six events at the Concordia University Track & Field Invite held Saturday (Apr. 10) in Seward, Neb. Three NWU women and two NWU men were individual winners, with a relay team winning the other event.

Freshman Taylor Tacha was a double winner for the Prairie Wolves as she won both hurdle races. She easily won the 100 hurdles in a time of 15.07, then completed the hurdle sweep with a time of 1:04.34 to win the 400 hurdles. The other winner for NWU was sophomore Katie Nelson in the 1,500 meter run. Nelson crossed the line in a time of 4:49.18 to win the event.

Other top performers for the NWU women were Katie Schoen, Malaina Huebert and Amanda Brichacek. Schoen was second in the high jump (5-3) and third in the 100 hurdles (16.29), Huebert was second in the 5,000 meters (19:12.29) and Brichacek also was second in the hammer throw (167-8).

For the NWU men, Harry Meginnis and Kevin Janata were both individual winners. Meginnis had a time of 10.99 to win the 100 meter dash then finished second in the 200 meters in a time of 23.15. Janata won the 110 hurdles in a time of 14.72 then was fifth in the 400 hurdles.

The NWU 4x100 team of Cody Lobeda, Jordan Janda, Meginnis and John Kersenbrock won the relay in a time of 42.96.

Kersenbrock also placed second in the triple jump in a mark of 45-2.50. Also finishing in the top two was Brian Copley who was second in the 1,500 meter run in a time of 4:03.76.
