Nebraska Wesleyan University senior Anne Kersenbrock earned her first All-American honor by placing eighth in the women’s long jump at the 2010 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships held at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind.
Kersenbrock (O’Neill, Neb.) had a leap of 17-10 ¼ to finish eight place in the field of 15 jumpers. Kersenbrock just missed All-American honors as a junior when she placed ninth at the Indoor Championships in the long jump. She also competed in the 55-meter dash at the 2010 Championships and ran a time of 7.40 to finish 17th in that event.
Three other NWU women also competed at the DIII Indoor Championships. Freshman Taylor Tacha ran a time of 8.43 in the 55 meter hurdles to finish 11th in her first trip to Nationals. Amanda Brichacek qualified in the weight throw and ended up 12th with a toss of 52-11. The final competitor for the NWU women was Deanna Dirkschneider who was 15th in the shot put with a mark of 41-8 ¾.
For the NWU men, freshman John Kersenbrock just missed qualifying for finals in the men’s long jump. His distance of 21-11 ½ was 10th and just one inch from making the finals.
The other participant for the Nebraska Wesleyan men was junior Kevin Janata who ran in the 55-meter hurdles and placed 12th with a time of 7.74.
