Track Teams Win Team Race at NWU Quad Meet

Four Nebraska Wesleyan athletes were double winners as both the NWU women's and men's track teams won the team titles at the NWU Quad Meet held Saturday (Feb. 6) at Knight Fieldhouse on the NWU campus.

Harry Meginnis, Logan Watley and Kevin Janata were all double winners for the Prairie Wolves men, while Anne Kersenbrock won three events for the women.

In the team race, NWU had 216 on the men to outdistance Hastings by 132. Baker and Sterling also competed in the quad meet. For the women, NWU scored 204 points to beat Hastings by 95.

Meginnis won both the sprints on the men's side for the Prairie Wolves winning the 55 meters (6.67) and the 200 meters (23.39). Watley was a winner in the mile (4:21.90) and 1,000 meters (2:34.50) while Janata won the 55 hurdles (7.79) and the triple jump (45-4.5).

Kersenbrock was the individual champion in the 55 meters (7.36), 200 meters (26.65) and the long jump (17-7).

Other winners for the women included Jackie Spelts in the mile, Ashley Ermer in the 3,000 meters, Taylor Tacha in the 55 hurdles, Jordan Duncan in the high jump and Deanna Dirkschneider in the shot put.

For the men, individual winners included Josh Wall in the 400, Zach Harsin in the 800, Brian Copley in the 3,000 and Jay Wall in pole vault.
