Nebraska Wesleyan University Director of Track & Field Ted Bulling has released the names of 33 recruits who plan to compete in track and field while attending NWU in 2012-13. The group includes 19 men and 14 women student-athletes.

The recruiting class includes several athletes who placed at the 2012 Nebraska State Track Championships. Highlighting the men’s group is Garrett Sellhorst from Dodge who was the runner-up in the Class D Triple Jump after winning the 2011 State title in the event; Charles Knight from Grand Island Northwest who was a part of the Class B 4x400 state champion relay team; A.J. Farrand from Aurora who was All-State in the Class B Pole Vault and Garrett Farr who was All-State in the Class D long jump. Casey Cruickshank (Sidney, Iowa) and John Gunderson (Oakland, Iowa) were both All-State performers in Iowa.

Standout women athletes include: Ashton Steckelberg from Lincoln Northeast who was the Class A runner-up in the 100 hurdles and placed third in the 300 hurdles, while setting the city record in that event; Gabriella Jenkins from Papillion-La Vista South had the fifth fastest time in the state of Nebraska in the 3,200; Jamie Larsen was Class D All-State in the 3,200 and Samantha Dolezal was the 2011 Class C State Champion in the discus.
