Tommie Bardsley set a career best in the high jump as he jumped 6-10 1/4 to finish as the national runner-up at the 2012 NCAA III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday (May 25) in Claremont, Calif.
Bardsley (Beatrice, Neb.) was one of three jumpers to clear 6-10 1/4 and he finished second based on number of misses. It is the second consecutive season that Bardsley earns All-America honors.
Trevor James from Carthage was the individual champion.
Bardsley now moves into fourth place on the NWU All-time charts.
The only other NWU individual that competed on Friday was senior Nick Sawyer in the 400 meter dash. He ran a time of 49.86 in the preliminaries and failed to qualify for the finals.
