Prairie Wolves Make Home Track Debut in Annual Doane Dual

Two track & field rivals Nebraska Wesleyan University and Doane College met in a dual meet on Friday night (Apr. 6) at the Woody Greeno Track in Lincoln. The Tigers defeated the Prairie Wolves in both the men's and women's team race. The Doane men won 116-83, while the Doane women defeated NWU, 11-88.

Nebraska Wesleyan won seven events on the men's side. Five of the victories were on the track. Jordan Rector won the 3000 Steeplechase, Nick Sawyer won the 400 meters, Derrick McKenzie won the 400 hurdles, Mike Rathje won the 5000 and the 4x400 team of Johnny Hower, McKenzie, Sawyer and John Kersenbrock won. In the field events, Tommie Bardsley won the high jump and Jay Wall was a winner in the pole vault.

For the NWU women, the Prairie Wolves won seven events. Two NWU athletes were multiple winners. Taylor Tacha won both the 100 hurdles and 400 hurdles, while Bailey Soucie was a multi-winner taking both the javelin and discus. Other winners for the Prairie Wolves were Erin Twibell in the 100 and Hannah Kinberg in the 5000.
