Both Nebraska Wesleyan University women competing at the 2012 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships became All-Americans as Katie Schoen earned the honor in the high jump and Deanna Dirkschneider earned recognition in the shot put.
The 2012 NCAA III Championships were held March 9-10 at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa. The NWU women finish with 5.5 team points to place 31st as a team.
Schoen (Adams, Neb.) was the highest placer as she finished tied for fifth in the women's high jump. The senior cleared 5-5 to tie for fifth overall.
Dirkschneider (North Bend, Neb.) earned her first All-American honors in indoor track as she took seventh in the women's shot put with a mark of 45-3.75.
Nebraska Wesleyan also had two men competing at the NCAA III Indoor Championships. John Kersenbrock just missed All-America honors in the men's long jump as he placed ninth. Kersenbrock had a leap of 23-0.5, getting edged by 0.25 inches for eighth place and an All-American honor. Kersenbrock also competed in the 400 meters but did not qualify for the finals.
Tommie Bardsley competed in the men's high jump and finished 13th clearing 6-6.75.
