Both the Doane College women and men defeated Nebraska Wesleyan University in a track & field dual between the two rival schools on Friday (April 4) at Abel Stadium in Lincoln, Neb. The Tiger women won 117-73, while the Doane men defeated NWU, 127-75.
Four Nebraska Wesleyan women won individual events on Friday. Devan Aschtgen won the 400 meters (1:01.26), Brittany Hubbard won the 5,000 meters (18:23.70), Holly Andrews won the 100 meter hurdles (15.30) and Bridget Baldwin won the 3,000 meter steeplechase (11:55.60).
On the men's side, the Doane men won 17 of the 19 events. The two individual winners for Nebraska Wesleyan were Dan Bittner in the 100 meters (10.88) and Kevin Janata in the 110 meter hurdles (15.35).
Only four places were scored in each event with each team only allowed two placers per event.
The Nebraska Wesleyan track teams will take part in the Concordia Invitational in Seward, Neb., next weekend (April 11-12).
