Nebraska Wesleyan’s track and field teams didn’t let some adverse weather affect them this past weekend as they competed strong at the Concordia Invitational. The meet, which was originally scheduled for Saturday (April 12) was postponed to Sunday (April 13) to avoid the forecasted cold temperatures and high winds.

The Prairie Wolves had two athletes reach provisional qualifying marks for the NCAA Division III. Senior Holly Andrews (14.66) won the 100 meter hurdles while fellow senior Katie Dobesh finished second in the 100 meter dash (12.34).

Also earning victories for NWU: senior Jason Peters won the 200 meter dash (21.86), sophomore Jackie Spelts cruised to victory in the women’s 5,000 meter run (18:02.62), senior Lindsey Israelson won the javelin (124-04). The 4x800 meter relay quartet of Eric Noel, Andy Stilmock, Kris Kratz and Evan Knight outlasted the field to win the event (8:08.65).

Next action for the Prairie Wolves will be this Saturday (April 19) at the Dick Young Invitational at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa.
