4x400 Relay Team Earns All-America Honors

The 4x400 relay team of Derek Carson, Andy Coppersmith, Matt Glasnapp and Myke Pettiford finished in third place at the NCAA III Indoor Track & Field Championships to earn All-America honors for the Prairie Wolves. The quartet ran a time of 3:19.10 to cross the line in third place, and pick up Nebraska Wesleyan's only All-America honors this season.

The third place finish for the 4x400 relay team gave NWU a total of six points to finish in a tie for 32nd place.

Carson also competed in the 400 meter dash and ran a time of 49.93 but failed to qualify for the finals. Other individuals competing for the men were Kevin Janata in the 55-meter hurdles. Janata ran a 7.79 but also missed the finals.

In the field events, Ryan Petersen competed in the pole vault where he had a mark of 15-7 3/4 to finish in 10th place.

Two Nebraska Wesleyan women also competed at the NCAA III Championships. Anne Kersenbrock just missed All-America honors as she placed in ninth place with a jump of 17-6. Jackie Spelts also finished in the top 10 as she placed 10th in the 5,000 meter run in a time of 17:29.42.
