It was the Nebraska Wesleyan University sprinters that led the way for the Prairie Wolves at the 2012 Prairie Wolf Indoor Invite on Friday (Jan. 18) at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln.

Senior John Kersenbrock was the lone winner for NWU on Friday night as he had the fastest time in the 400 meters. Kersenbrock ran a time of 49.13, which converted is the fifth fastest time in NCAA Division III this season. Teammate Johnny Hower was seventh in the same race.

Also for the NWU men, sophomore Brock Taute was second in the Mile run in a time of 4:19.56.

In the field events, the Prairie Wolves had two good performances in the triple jump. Edson de Oliveria was fourth with a mark of 44-10.75, followed by Garrett Sellhorst in fifth with a leap of 44-2.

For the Prairie Wolves women, senior Taylor Tacha had the best performances of the night. Tacha was fifth in the 60 hurdles, but her time of 9.01 is the fifth best time in NCAA III this year. Tacha also competed in the 200 and was fourth.

Fellow senior Erin Twibell placed in the top eight in both sprint events. Twibell was seventh in the 60 meters and eighth in the 200.

Ali Tewes was in the top six in two different distance events for NWU. Tewes was fourth in the 3,000 in a time of 10:48.29 and placed sixth in the Mile.
