Copley Wins NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship

Nebraska Wesleyan University cross country/track & field athlete Brian Copley was one of the 29 men in the nation in all divisions selected to receive a $7,500 postgraduate scholarship from the NCAA for the spring 2010 sports season.

Three Track Athletes Named Academic All-District

Nebraska Wesleyan University had three track & field athletes named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Track & Field/Cross Country teams that were recently announced. Senior Brian Copley was on the District VII First-Team in the college division. Senior Jackie Spelts and junior Kevin Janata were both voted to the Second-Team.

Janata Wins NCAA Elite 88 Award

Nebraska Wesleyan University junior Kevin Janata has won the inaugural NCAA Elite 88 Award for men’s outdoor track & field at the Division III level. The announcement was made at the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships held May 27-29 in Berea, Ohio.

Chatelain, Janata Get First All-American Awards

Two Nebraska Wesleyan University male track & field athletes earned All-American honors at the 2010 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships that were held in Berea, Ohio (May 27-29). Freshman Jack Chatelain placed fifth in the men’s long jump and junior Kevin Janata finished fourth in the 110 hurdles.

NWU Track Coaches Honored by USTFCCCA

Nebraska Wesleyan University Track and Field Head Coach Ted Bulling has been named the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Central Region Men’s Coach of the Year. In addition, NWU assistant coach Derek Frese was named the USTFCCCA Central Region Women’s Assistant Coach-of-the-Year.

NWU Sending 11 Athletes to NCAA Track & Field Championships

Nebraska Wesleyan University will have 11 athletes competing in 12 different events at the 2010 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships that will be held on May 27-29 at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. Seven women and four men have qualified for the track & field championships for the Prairie Wolves.

NWU Men Second, Women Third at GPAC Track Championships

Both the Nebraska Wesleyan University men's and women's track teams performed well at the 2010 Great Plains Athletic Conference Track & Field Championships held Saturday (May 1) at Hastings, Neb. The NWU men placed second, while the women took home third place in the team race.

NWU Men Blow Past Field at Dick Young Classic

Nebraska Wesleyan won seven individual events and had four NCAA Qualifying marks as the Prairie Wolves blow away the rest of the field to win the team title at the Dick Young Classic at Grinnell College on Saturday afternoon (Apr. 17). NWU scored 192 points to defeat the second place team by 113 points.

Track Competes at Concordia Invite

Nebraska Wesleyan won six events at the Concordia University Track & Field Invite held Saturday (Apr. 10) in Seward, Neb. Three NWU women and two NWU men were individual winners, with a relay team winning the other event.

Doane Edges NWU in Track Dual

Old conference rivals Nebraska Wesleyan and Doane College met on Thursday night (Apr. 1) in Crete for their annual track & field dual.

Doane-NWU Track Dual Moved to 4/1

The track & field dual meet between Nebraska Wesleyan University and Doane College that was scheduled for Friday, April 2 has been moved up one day and now will be held on Thursday, April 1. The meet is slated to begin at 5 p.m., in Crete, Neb.

Track & Field Schedule Update

The Nebraska Wesleyan University track & field teams were scheduled to open the outdoor portion of the 2010 season this Saturday at the Hastings College Invitational. The invitational has now been moved to Sunday, and NWU will not attend.

High School Track Meet Information

Nebraska Wesleyan will play host to three high school indoor track & field meets in Knight Fieldhouse on the Nebraska Wesleyan campus from March 19-23. Class A will be Friday followed by the Classes C-D meet on Saturday. The final meet will be the Class B competition on Tuesday.

Kersenbrock Earns NCAA III All-American Honors

Nebraska Wesleyan University senior Anne Kersenbrock earned her first All-American honor by placing eighth in the women’s long jump at the 2010 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships held at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind.

Six Athletes Headed to NCAA Track Championships

Nebraska Wesleyan University will have six athletes competing at the 2010 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships that will be held on March 12-13 at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. Four women and two men have qualified for the track & field championships for the Prairie Wolves.

Qualifying Marks Set at NWU Open

Nebraska Wesleyan had seven athletes post NCAA Qualifying marks on a very successful day as they hosted the NWU Indoor Open on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 27) at Knight Fieldhouse.

Men 3rd, Women 4th at GPAC Championships

Three Nebraska Wesleyan women won individual titles, while the NWU men had several individuals earn All-GPAC honors as the Prairie Wolves men placed third and the NWU women fourth at the 2010 Great Plains Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships held Saturday at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

NWU Wins 17 Events at BVU Challenge

The Nebraska Wesleyan men's and women's track & field teams combined to win 17 individual events at the Buena Vista Challenge on Saturday (Feb. 13) in Storm Lake, Iowa. The Prairie Wolves won nearly half of all the events as there were 35 individual events on the day.

Track Teams Win Team Race at NWU Quad Meet

Four Nebraska Wesleyan athletes were double winners as both the NWU women's and men's track teams won the team titles at the NWU Quad Meet held Saturday (Feb. 6) at Knight Fieldhouse on the NWU campus.

Track Teams Compete at Nisely Invite

Both the Nebraska Wesleyan men's and women's track & field teams continued their indoor season on Jan. 30 when they competed at the Scott Nisely Invitational at Doane College in Crete, Neb.
