Nebraska Wesleyan women had five NCAA III Qualifying marks at the 2011 Concordia Invite that was held Saturday (Apr. 16) in Seward, Neb.

Senior Amanda Brichacek led the way by winning the hammer throw with a season-best mark of 176-6. That is an automatic qualifying mark and the second longest throw in NCAA III this season.

Sophomore Taylor Tacha had two qualifying marks in the hurdle races on Saturday. Tacha ran a time of 14.90 in the preliminaries of the 100 hurdles. She also placed second in the 400 hurdles in a qualifying time of 1:03.70.

Junior Katie Schoen tied for second in the women's high jump with a career-best jump of 5-6. That jump ties her for fourth on the NWU all-time list.

The final qualifying mark for the Prairie Wolves women was in the shot put where Deanna Dirkschneider improved her season best toss with a mark of 44-10.25. She finished fourth in the event.

On the men's side, the lone NWU performer to post a qualifying mark was senior Kevin Janata in the 110 hurdles. Janata ran a season-best time of 14.41 in the finals to get an automatic qualifying time.

Nebraska Wesleyan track & field teams will now prepare for their own home meet this Friday (Apr. 22) when they host the NWU Invite at the new Woody Greeno Track.
