Four Nebraska Wesleyan track & field athletes earned All-America status at the NCAA III Indoor Track & Field Championships that were held Mar. 11-12 in Columbus, Ohio.

Senior Amanda Brichacek led the way as she was a two-time All-American. Brichacek placed fifth in the women's shot put with a toss of 46-6 3/4. She got her first All-American honor on Friday with a seventh place finish in the weight throw with a mark of 56-2.5.

On the men's side, senior Kevin Janata got his first indoor All-American honor by placing fifth in the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 7.54.

Two NWU men earned All-America on day one. John Kersenbrock had a leap of 23-2 to place seventh in the long jump. Jay Wall got his first All-America award as he went 15-11 3/4 in the pole vault to finish eighth.

Other NWU athletes competed well at the championships and just missed top eight finishes. Katie Schoen was ninth in the women's high jump, Jack Chatelain was 10th in the men's long jump and Elliott Bulling placed 10th in the men's shot put. Taylor Tacha ran a 8.37 in the 55 meter hurdles but did not make the finals.

In the team standings the NWU men tied for 26th, while the women tied for 34th.
