Nebraska Wesleyan University Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Ted Bulling has released the names of 24 recruits who plan to compete in cross country and/or track and field while attending NWU in 2010-11

The recruiting class includes several athletes who placed at the 2010 Nebraska State Track Championships.  Highlighting the group is Tommie Bardsley from Beatrice who won two medals including runner-up in Class B High Jump; John Hower from Millard West who was a part of two state champion relay teams and Ali Tewes from Lincoln Southeast who was part of the girls All Class gold medal 4x800 relay team.    

Other standout athletes include: Kevin Drwal from Millard West who was Class A runner-up in the discus, UNO transfer Matt Holst who won two medals in 2009, Ben Manley who placed in the Class C triple jump and Brandon Landanger from Kearney.

The NWU men’s cross country team has won nine of the last 10 conference championships, while the NWU women’s cross country team has won eight of the last nine conference titles.

In track & field, the Prairie Wolves men have won 19 of the last 22 conference crowns, while the women have finished in the top 20 at the NCAA III Championships 22 times since 1989.
