Both the Nebraska Wesleyan men's and women's tennis teams stayed unbeaten in Great Plains Athletic Conference play as they swept past Midland Lutheran College, 9-0, on Wednesday afternoon (Mar. 31) in Lincoln.
The Nebraska Wesleyan men improve to 2-0 in GPAC, 4-7 overall with their win over the Warriors. NWU received two forfeits at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles from Midland Lutheran as they had just five players. The Prairie Wolves won in straight sets in the five singles matches. In doubles play, Noah Hoppe and Drew Placek won at No. 1 doubles, 8-4, while Seth Milburn and Ryan McCarty teamed up to win No. 2 doubles, 8-1.
The Prairie Wolves women's team stayed on top of the GPAC standings as they move their record to 3-0 in conference and over .500 at 7-6 overall. They also used two forfeit victories in their 9-0 win.
NWU posted straight set victories in all their singles matches as only one Midland Lutheran player won more than two games in a set. In doubles play, Chelsea Henslee and Molly Andrews won 8-1 at No. 1 doubles and Andrea Dasilva and Erica Dickmeyer were 8-4 winners at No. 2 doubles.
The Prairie Wolves will step out of GPAC play on Friday (Apr. 2) when they play Creighton University in Omaha.
