Tennis Splits Matches With Westminster

The Nebraska Wesleyan women's tennis team picked up its second win of the season with a 7-2 victory over Westminster College, while the NWU men remain winless as they lost to Westminster, 8-1, on Saturday in Kansas City, Mo. The Prairie Wolves and Bluejays played the matches at the Plaza Tennis Center in Kansas City.

NWU took two of the three double matches on the women's side winning at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to take a 2-1 lead. The Prairie Wolves then won five of the six singles matches to improve to 2-4 overall on the season. The only wins for the Bluejays were at No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles.

In the men's match, Nate Hoppe won at No. 1 singles for the Prairie Wolves only victory. Hoppe won 6-3, 7-5 to even his overall record at 3-3 in singles play. Hoppe is the only NWU male player with more than one singles win.

The Prairie Wolves men will host Grinnell College on Saturday, while the women will be off until the Spring Break trip to Hilton Head.
