“I’m really excited about having these incoming student-athletes competing for us,” Harley said. “I feel there are several players who will contribute immediately and help us add to the success our men and women have enjoyed."

All five men competed at the state high school tennis tournament in 2004, including Eric Holmes and Corey Tallman, who both made it to State in Class A at No. 1 doubles. Tallman placed third and Holmes, who went 37-5 during the season, advanced to the quarterfinals. Scott Ronshaugen also advanced to the quarterfinal round in Class A at No. 2 singles and finished 34-3 in 2004. Austin Henslee made it to the second round at State in Class B No. 1 doubles, and Chris Northup won No. 2 doubles in Class B.

For the women, Becca Brown won No. 2 doubles in Class A earlier this year, while Natalie Brooks placed second in Class B at No. 2 doubles. In addition, Mikayla Albin took fourth and Mikaela Caudill advanced to the quarterfinals at No. 1 singles in Class B.

In 2005, Nebraska Wesleyan’s tennis teams both earned runner-up finishes in the Great Plains Athletic Conference and advanced to the NAIA Region IV Championships.
