The Nebraska Wesleyan men's tennis team fell to 0-4 to start the season as they lost a pair of matches on Saturday (Feb. 11) at Knight Fieldhouse in Lincoln. Central College defeated NWU, 8-1, in the first match then the Prairie Wolves fell to William Jewell College, 7-2.
In the opening dual of the day the Prairie Wolves picked up just one singles victory against the Central Dutch for their lone victory. At No. 2 singles, Jordan Barrett won 6-3, 6-2 for the Prairie Wolves win.
Nebraska Wesleyan had success at the top of the lineup in the dual against William Jewell. Senior Nate Hoppe joined Ryan McCarty at No. 1 doubles to win 8-6 over the William Jewell tandem of Gianneti/Thomas. Hoppe also got a win in singles action as he rallied back to win 1-6, 6-4, 10-8 in the most exciting match of the day.
Nebraska Wesleyan now has two weeks off before their next match against Nebraska-Kearney on Feb. 26.
