Nebraska Wesleyan made its presence known in the first week of Great Plains Athletic Conference honors as a pair of Prairie Wolves were named Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Tennis Players-of-the-Week. Nathan Hoppe was the men's winner and Mikaela Caudill won the women's honor.
Hoppe, a freshman from Lincoln, Neb., posted a 3-1 record at the No. 2 singles spot for the Prairie Wolves during their Spring Break trip to Hilton Head, S.C. In addition to his singles success, he also went 4-1 in his doubles matches. Hoppe helped NWU go 2-3 on their trip.
Caudill extended her winning streak to eight matches by going a perfect 5-0 in singles action on the trip to Hilton Head. Caudill was 4-0 at No. 4 singles then moved up to get a victory at No. 3 singles. The senior from Lincoln, Neb., also picked up a doubles victory on the trip.
The NWU men are 5-5 on the season and 1-0 in GPAC play, while the NWU women are 3-7 overall and 1-0 in GPAC.
