Nebraska Wesleyan University tennis player Nate Anderson was one of 29 men in the nation in all divisions selected to receive a $7,500 postgraduate scholarship from the NCAA for the spring 2008 sports season.

Nebraska Wesleyan University senior tennis player Nate Anderson has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Anderson was named to the Academic All-America® Third-Team in the college division.

May 22

Nebraska Wesleyan University had three tennis players named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District At-Large teams that were announced on Thursday (May 22). Seniors Nate Anderson and Eric Tesmer were both voted to the District 7 First-Team in the college division for men. Junior Sarah Howe was named to the First-Team for the women’ s at-large college division.

The Nebraska Wesleyan men’s tennis team had every one of its players receive All-Conference honors when the Great Plains Athletic Conference men’s tennis teams were announced. In addition, freshman Jamie Holmes (Grand Island, Neb.) was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men’s Tennis Player-of-the-Year.

Nine members of the Nebraska Wesleyan University tennis teams were chosen as 2008 Daktronics NAIA Scholar Athletes. Five men and four women earned the recognition for NWU.

Nebraska Wesleyan University freshman Jamie Holmes was named the Great Plains Athletic Conference/Hauff Mid-America Sports men's tennis Player-of-the-Week honors for the week of April 14-20. 

March 27

Nebraska Wesleyan University tennis athletes swept the Great Plains Athletic Conference/Hauff Mid-America Sports tennis Players-of-the-Week honors for the week of March 10-16. Freshman Jamie Holmes was named the men’s tennis Player-of-the-Week, while freshman Chelsea Henslee was the women’s tennis Player-of-the-Week.

Head Tennis Coach Dr. Rick Harley today announced the names of seven student-athletes, who intend to play tennis and study at Nebraska Wesleyan University starting this fall.
