Student-athletes from Nebraska Wesleyan University earned a total of 132 Pflieger-Olson Scholar-Athlete Awards during the 2005-06 school year. The awards are given by the Great Plains Athletic Conference to team contributors who have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.30 and are enrolled in at least their third term at the institution.

Head Tennis Coach Dr. Rick Harley has released the names of four student-athletes, who have said they will enroll at Nebraska Wesleyan University this fall and intend to play tennis in 2006-07 for the Prairie Wolves.

Seven of Nebraska Wesleyan’s student-athletes competing in baseball, tennis and women’s golf have been Daktronics/NAIA All-America Scholar-Athletes.

May 25

Nebraska Wesleyan’s Zac Kerr (Jr., Grand Island, Neb., Grand Island High School) has been named to the Academic All-District VII First Team for men’s at-large sports in the college division.

Kerr has a 3.97 cumulative grade point average in accounting and led the Prairie Wolves to the NAIA Tennis Championships earlier this month. He made the All-Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Team in both singles and doubles this season, and helped NWU win both the GPAC postseason tournament and the NAIA Region III tournament.
