Five members of the Nebraska Wesleyan University men’s soccer team were named to the 2012 Great Plains Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer All-Conference that was announced Monday (Nov. 12). Forward Colby Twist led the NWU honors as he was named to the All-GPAC First-Team, while Matt Woodman, Nick Palacio, A.J. Johnson and Joe Platten received All-GPAC honorable mention recognition.

The 2012 All-Independent Men’s Soccer teams were announced Thursday (Nov. 8) by the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) and Nebraska Wesleyan had nine players recognized. Junior Colby Twist was named the AD3I Offensive Player-of-the-Year for the second consecutive season, while juniors Kyle Jisa, Stephen Boakye, and Matt Woodman were also on the All-Independent First-Team. In addition, head coach Sean Steele was named AD3I Coach-of-the-Year.

The Nebraska Wesleyan men's soccer team closed out the 2012 season with a 2-2 tie to Briar Cliff University in the season finale on Saturday (Oct. 27) at Abel Stadium in Lincoln.
