2011: Started the first nine games of the season at defender … missed the remainder of the season with injury … played a key role for the Prairie Wolves defense … had four total shots on the season.

2010: Appeared in 10 matches in his first season at Nebraska Wesleyan, with eight of those games playing as goalkeeper … started four games at goalie … had 29 saves on the season and allowed 2.85 goals per game … held Morningside scoreless as the goalie for the entire second half in the 2-0 win on Sept. 19 … also appeared in games as a defender.

In High School: A three-year letterwinner and starter in soccer at Timberview High School in Texas … was named All-District Goalkeeper as a junior and sophomore … named All-District defender as a senior … also was All-City Midfielder during his senior season … voted team captain … also played football for the Timberwolves.

Personal: Born 8/21/1988…son of Earl Mergens … played his first season of collegiate soccer at Dana College before transferring to NWU in 2010.
