Jisa Nets Game Winner in Overtime

Kyle Jisa scored a goal on a second touch off a throw in in the fourth minute of overtime to give Nebraska Wesleyan a 3-2 overtime victory over Simpson College on Wednesday (Sept. 12) in Indianola, Iowa.

NWU now has won two straight matches to improve to 2-2-1 overall, while Simpson falls to 4-2.

Simpson scored the lone goal of the first half during the 30th minute and held the Prairie Wolves scoreless for a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Within the first five minutes of the second half, the Storm scored again as Tyler Neumann had his fifth goal of the season.

Down 2-0, the Prairie Wolves got on the board midway through the second half when leading scored Colby Twist got his third goal of the season on an assist from AJ Johnson.

In the 84th minute of action still trailing by one goal, Zach Lind found the open net on a straight away shot to tie the match and send the match into overtime.

NWU wasted little time in the overtime period as Jisa scored at the 94:52 mark to give the Prairie Wolves the road victory.

The Prairie Wolves tallied 13 total shots with five shots on goal, while the Storm had 20 shots, 11 of which were on goal.

Turner Mead recorded nine saves to improve to 2-0 on the season.

Nebraska Wesleyan will finally make their home debut this Sunday (Sept. 16) when they host Coe College at 3 pm.
