Morningside College broke open a scoreless match with two second half goals as they shutout the Nebraska Wesleyan men, 2-0, in a Great Plains Athletic Conference men's soccer match on Saturday night (Oct. 17) in Sioux City, Iowa.
NWU falls to 5-6-4 overall and 2-5-2 in the GPAC, while Morningside improves to 8-5-1 and 6-3 in the GPAC.
The two teams were both scoreless after the first 45 minutes as the teams combined for just four shots. The Mustangs finally got on the board in the 63rd minute when Hogan Cemper scored. They added another goal in the 78th minute as Kory Kraker scored his second goal of the season.
Nebraska Wesleyan will attempt to get back in the win column on Wednesday night when they host Concordia University at Abel Stadium.
