Central College scored during the sixth minute of overtime to defeat Nebraska Wesleyan, 1-0, and give the Prairie Wolves their first loss of the season in a NCAA Division III men's soccer match on Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 15) in Pella, Iowa.Cody Jandik scored on a breakaway at the 96:01 mark for the first and only goal of the match for the game-winner for the Dutch.
Neither team was able to get on the board during regulation as the game was tied at 0-0 after the first 90 minutes. NWU had four total shots on goal during the entire match and 20 total shots, while Central had 10 shots on goal and 26 shots.
Josh Miller recorded nine saves for the Prairie Wolves, but took his first loss of the season in goal.
Nebraska Wesleyan falls to 3-1-2 overall on the season. The Prairie Wolves will look to bounce back this Saturday (Sept. 19) when they open Great Plains Athletic Conference play against the University of Sioux Falls at 8 pm in Abel Stadium.
