AJ George scored a goal in the 82nd minute of the match to give Simpson College a 1-0 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan in men's soccer action on Tuesday in Indianola, Iowa. NWU falls to 1-4 overall while Simpson improves to 2-3-1.
The match was extremely even in all aspects with each team recording eight shots and five shots on goal. Both teams committed 10 fouls and for 82 minutes, neither team could find the goal.
At the 82:06 mark, George scored on an assist from Chris Allen from inside the goalkeeper box to give Simpson the lead and victory.
Six different NWU players recorded shots, and Josh Miller had four saves in goal for the Prairie Wolves.
Nebraska Wesleyan will finally get to play a home match on Sept. 23 when they host Dana College in a Great Plains Athletic Conference match.
