Dana College shut out Nebraska Wesleyan, 1-0, in Great Plains Athletic Conference men's soccer action on Tuesday night (Sept. 23) at Abel Stadium in Lincoln, Neb. It was the home opener for the Prairie Wolves this season as the first five matches were on the road.
With the loss, NWU falls to 1-5-0 overall and 0-2 in the GPAC. The Vikings remain perfect on the year with a 8-0-0 overall mark and a 3-0-0 GPAC record.
Thor Brown scored the only goal of the game in the 35th minute when he scored on a header off the cross from Travis Barton. That would be the only scoring of the highly contested contest.
A total of eight yellow cards were handed out, and NWU head coach James Beckmann was ejected from the game after receiving two yellow cards.
NWU had two shots on goal, while Dana had three.
The Prairie Wolves will try to pick up their first GPAC victory on Saturday night (Sept. 27) when they host Northwestern College.
