GPAC Player-of-the-Week Jordan Green scored a pair of goals to lift Nebraska Wesleyan to a 2-0 victory over Midland Lutheran College on Tuesday (Oct. 7) in Great Plains Athletic Conference men's soccer action.
The victory was the fifth straight for the Prairie Wolves as they improve to 6-5 overall and 4-2 in the GPAC. NWU moves up to fifth place in the current GPAC standings. The Warriors fall to 3-6-1 overall and 1-4-1 in the league.
Nebraska Wesleyan wasted little time getting on the board as Green scored off an assist from Seth Neben during the second minute at the 2:10 mark to put NWU up 1-0 at halftime.
The Prairie Wolves would add their second goal in the 67th minute when Green found the net again. It was the third straight GPAC game that Green has scored two goals.
Goalkeeper Josh Miller posted his third straight shutout, and fourth straight shutout against GPAC opponents.
NWU recorded 18 shots, twice as many as the Warriors. NWU also had nine corner kicks and recorded only seven fouls, compared to 19 for Midland Lutheran.
Nebraska Wesleyan will now travel to Colorado Springs, Colo., this weekend to face Colorado College on Saturday (Oct. 11).
