Hastings College proved why they are the No. 3 team in the NAIA and the GPAC regular season champion as they downed Nebraska Wesleyan, 4-0, in men's soccer action on Senior Night (Oct. 26) at Abel Stadium in Lincoln.
The Broncos, the 2010 National Champion, dominated the entire match as they had 30 total shots compared to just three for the Prairie Wolves. Hastings had 17 shots on goal and jumped out a 4-0 lead at halftime and cruised to the win.
Jordan Green and Nate Polak each scored two goals in the match for the Broncos. Green got the first goal of the match in the 13th minute. Polak then scored 20 minutes later as he sent a laser shot in from the 20-yard line.
Green came back less than three minutes later with his second goal of the match then Polak capped the scoring at the 41:12 mark on an assist from Green.
Hastings improved 16-1 and 9-0 in GPAC and bounced back after their winning streak was snapped in their last match.
Nebraska Wesleyan falls to 5-12 overall and 3-6 in GPAC. The Prairie Wolves have one match remaining for the 2011 season as they travel to Briar Cliff this Saturday.
