The Nebraska Wesleyan men's soccer team is still looking for their first victory of the season as the Prairie Wolves were shutout, 2-0, by Central College on Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 7) in Pella, Iowa.
NWU remains winless at 0-3 while Central College improves to 2-1.
The Prairie Wolves continue to struggle on offense as they have scored just one goal in the first three matches. Against the Dutch, NWU attempted six total shots with only one shot on goal.
Central was led by Jordan Appenzeller who scored both goals in the match. Appenzeller got his first goal in the first half during the 23rd minute. Central would lead 1-0 at intermission.
Appenzeller wasted little time in the second half as he would score his second goal of the match six minutes into the second half.
NWU was unable to rally as they managed just two total shots in the second half.
The Prairie Wolves will aim for their first victory of the season on Sunday (Sept. 11) when they travel to play Fontbonne University.
