Twist Takes Home AD3I Soccer Player of Week Honor

Nebraska Wesleyan junior soccer player Colby Twist has been named this week’s Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) men’s soccer Player-of-the-Week.Colby Twist

Twist (Omaha, Neb.) scored the game-winning goal in overtime to give the Prairie Wolves a 2-1 victory over Morningside College on Saturday (Oct. 20) in Sioux City. It was the second goal of the week for Twist as he also scored the lone NWU goal in a 2-1 double OT loss to Concordia.

The overtime game-winning goal was Twist’s 14th goal of the season, which ranks in a tie for eighth on the NWU single season charts. He ranks in the top 20 of NCAA Division III in goals this season. Twist now has 29 career goals to rank sixth all-time at Nebraska Wesleyan in his first three seasons.

Nebraska Wesleyan enters its final week of the 2012 season with a 8-6-2 overall record. The Prairie Wolves face nationally-ranked Hastings College on Tuesday night (Oct. 23) in Hastings, Neb., then close the season at home against Briar Cliff University this coming Saturday (Oct. 27) for Senior Day
