Colby Twist scored a pair of goals and Turner Mead posted a shoutout in goal as Nebraska Wesleyan shoutout Mount Marty College, 2-0, in GPAC men's soccer action on Saturday (Oct. 13) at Abel Stadium in Lincoln.
Nebraska Wesleyan wins their second straight GPAC match and now has won three of their last four matches to improve to 7-5-1 overall and 4-2 in GPAC play.
Twist got the Prairie Wolves on the board in the first half in the 12th minute as he scored off a beautiful pass from Stephen Boakye. That would be the only goal of the first half with NWU leading 1-0 at intermission.
In the second half, the Prairie Wolves had several scoring chances with 20 total shots in the half but only connected once in goal. Twist scored his 12th goal of the season off an assist from Alex Thorson in the 78th minute of play.
Nebraska Wesleyan finished with 26 total shots, 11 shots on goal compared to just 10 shots for Mount Marty.
NWU will be right back in action on Sunday (Oct. 14) as they host Central College.
