Twist Scores Two in 3-1 Win Over Dordt

Colby Twist scored a pair of goals in the first half to put Nebraska Wesleyan up by two at halftime and they would on for a 3-1 victory over Dordt College in GPAC men's soccer action on Saturday night (Sept. 29) at Abel Stadium in Lincoln, Neb.

With the victory Nebraska Wesleyan improved to 5-4-1 overall and 2-1 in the GPAC, while Dordt dropped to 5-5, 1-2 GPAC.

Twist's first goal came in the 32nd minute for the first goal of the match. With under four minutes remaining in the first half he scored again on an assist from Kyle Jisa. For Twist, he now has nine goals on the season.

The Prairie Wolves added another goal early in the second half as Luke Lyons got his first goal of the season on an assist by Chris Simley.

Dordt did score a goal late in the match to spoil the shutout as Steven Talsma scored for the Defenders.

NWU finished with 16 total shots, nine on goal while Dordt had 17 shots with six on goal.

Nebraska Wesleyan travels to Crete on Wednesday for a match at rival Doane College.
